Vicki's Cornbread

1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp soda
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt

Melt butter in large pan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Combine buttermilk with soda and stir into mixture. Add cornmeal, flour, salt and stir until blended. Pour into buttered 8" sq. pan. bake about 1/2 hour in 375.
