1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
1 can (8 3/4oz) crushed pineapple and juice
3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Mix shortening, sugar and egg thoroughly. Stir in pineapple. Stir together flour, soda, salt and nutmeg. Blend in. Mix with nuts. Chill at least 1 hour. Heat oven to 400. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough about 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheeet. bake 8-10 minutes or until no imprint reamins when touched.
