2 cups S. milk or potato water
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 pkg yeast
Scould milk, add shortening, let cool until luke warm. Add yeast and sugar. Add flour until cake dough consistency. Let rise until double in bulk. Have ready to add to the above mixture:
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 T baking powder
Add flour until not sticky. Beat well. Let rise again. Punch down. Roll out and cut biscuits. Let rise again, about an hour. Then bake. This keeps good in refrigerator. They are delicious. I got from Myrtle Davis in 1964.
